September 2010

I have been slacking this month on the blog so I figured I would just post lots of pictures to get caught up!! We have had a VERY busy and exciting month!! Charlie is growing up so fast!! He can now say up to 25 words, point to most of his body parts and he can tell you the sounds of 5 animals! Emma (my mom) bought Charlie an I pad and he has mastered turning it off and on, turning on music and playing apps. He can go from one app to another all on his own. Yes I know I'm bragging but I am so proud!!

Jennifer (Jay's girlfriend) and I at the Kinkaid vs Cassidy game.

PERFECT!!

The star of the game! It was a blow out and Jay played great. The Chain on his neck is given to the best defensive player. He is also the captin of the team!! Go jay!

Pop tickling Charlie!!

Pop, Charlie and Emma before Jay's game.

Emma bought Charlie a new fire truck! SHOCKING!!

Charlie playing at discovery green after his photo shoot for the Christmas card.

Aunt fun and baby playing at the Galleria!

Sweet Cousins!

Dada and Charlie before the first Horns game!

Dada and Charlie playing in the rain! Charlie loves the rain and would play in it for hours on end if I let him!

Charlie having a snack after a long afternoon playing in the rain.

My cousin Stephen brought his future bride to Austin for the weekend. We LOVED having them and can't wait for the wedding!

We spent a weekend in Galveston for Mark's fantasy football draft and while Dada was having a great time with his buddies Charlie and I enjoyed time with the family. Charlie LOVED swimming with his GRAMMY!

Charlie and I got bored so we walked to the store and bought stuff to make cookies and fudge from scratch. Charlie liked the spoons and sampled the goods!

Mimi

I said in past blogs that when I was ready I would blog about my Mimi and I guess that time has come.

My Mimi was the most amazing woman on earth who taught me life's most important lessons and for that I will always be grateful. She taught me to love with my whole heart and that family is the most important thing in this world. Growing up I didn't get to spend as much time with Mimi as I would have liked due to circumstances beyond my control but I am thankful that choices I made as an adult brought me to Galveston and closer to her. Mimi was the first person to show me unconditional love, she never judged my poor decisions but encouraged me to better. She always believed in me and would have done or given me anything to make my dreams come true. I am a better person for having her in my life.

She welcomed Mark into our family with open arms and loved him with all of her heart. My wedding was the happiest I've ever seen her and she was the "Belle of the Ball." She was one of the first people I told I was pregnant with Charlie. Poor Mimi had a hard time keeping the pregnancy a secret... she was so thrilled she wanted to tell EVERYONE!! When I went into labor I called Mimi at 11:30 at night and poor Mimi said she stayed up all night worrying. I'll never forget calling her the next morning to tell her Charlie had made his debut and was healthy and happy. From that moment on Charlie became one of the loves of her life. I took him down to Galveston 2 weeks later and watching her hold him for the first time was a wonderful moment for Mark and I.

Loosing Mimi has been very hard on me and my family. I'm so glad she was able to know Charlie! She gave him a stuffed rabbit for Easter that I put in his crib every night so Mimi can watch over him as he sleeps. When he grows up I will tell him all about her and how much she loved him. I truly believe that she is watching out for all of her loved ones. She is now with her beloved parents. Someday when my time comes she will welcome me with open arms and say"baby I'm glad you're here I made you your favorite strawberry cake."

I will do my best to live up to your standards Mimi! I love you so much and not a day goes by that I don't think of you!!

I love you Mimi!

Zoo

Every Saturday we try to do some fun Austin activity with Charlie and the Zoo is one of our favorites! Though we learned our lesson about going in the heat of the day... It's HOT and all of the animals are sleeping!

Poor baby Charlie turned bright red! It happens everytime he gets hot! Don't worry its not sunburn.
He loves feeding the animals!

Mexico trip

Mark and I spent 5 night in Los Cabos Mexico for our 2nd anniversary and it was amazing! We drank, ate a ton, and went fishing and snorkeling. Mark played golf one day while I spent the afternoon at the spa! Bliss!!

Charlie's Birthday

Our baby boy is growing up way to fast!! He not only turned one this past week but he also started walking!! Crawling is still his favorite way to get around but he walks all over the house especially if you pretend not to be watching. He does not like an audience... he gets that from Mark!!

We had his "Pirate Pool Party" at my parents house in Houston. We only invited family but ended up having 37 people! It was a ton of fun. Mark, Charlie and I had more of a low key celebration in Austin on his actual birthday. We made a cake and all 3 of us decorated it! So fun!!

Dada serving Charlie his birthday cake on his actual birthday!!

The finished product!

Dada and Charlie adding the sprinkles.

Charlie's new ball pit that Emma and Pop gave him for his birthday!

I'm one!

Uncle Jay made it to the party! He came home early from a baseball tournament.

Memorial Day and Galveston Pictures

We had a very fun Memorial day weekend with my family at the lake. We had to cut our trip short when we got the tragic news that our beloved Mimi passed away. I fully plan on blogging on Mimi when I stop reeling from the loss but for now I wanted to put up some fun pictures of our trips.
