Mimi

I said in past blogs that when I was ready I would blog about my Mimi and I guess that time has come.

My Mimi was the most amazing woman on earth who taught me life's most important lessons and for that I will always be grateful. She taught me to love with my whole heart and that family is the most important thing in this world. Growing up I didn't get to spend as much time with Mimi as I would have liked due to circumstances beyond my control but I am thankful that choices I made as an adult brought me to Galveston and closer to her. Mimi was the first person to show me unconditional love, she never judged my poor decisions but encouraged me to better. She always believed in me and would have done or given me anything to make my dreams come true. I am a better person for having her in my life.

She welcomed Mark into our family with open arms and loved him with all of her heart. My wedding was the happiest I've ever seen her and she was the "Belle of the Ball." She was one of the first people I told I was pregnant with Charlie. Poor Mimi had a hard time keeping the pregnancy a secret... she was so thrilled she wanted to tell EVERYONE!! When I went into labor I called Mimi at 11:30 at night and poor Mimi said she stayed up all night worrying. I'll never forget calling her the next morning to tell her Charlie had made his debut and was healthy and happy. From that moment on Charlie became one of the loves of her life. I took him down to Galveston 2 weeks later and watching her hold him for the first time was a wonderful moment for Mark and I.

Loosing Mimi has been very hard on me and my family. I'm so glad she was able to know Charlie! She gave him a stuffed rabbit for Easter that I put in his crib every night so Mimi can watch over him as he sleeps. When he grows up I will tell him all about her and how much she loved him. I truly believe that she is watching out for all of her loved ones. She is now with her beloved parents. Someday when my time comes she will welcome me with open arms and say"baby I'm glad you're here I made you your favorite strawberry cake."

I will do my best to live up to your standards Mimi! I love you so much and not a day goes by that I don't think of you!!

I love you Mimi!

The first time Mimi meet Charlie!
