Memorial Day and Galveston Pictures

We had a very fun Memorial day weekend with my family at the lake. We had to cut our trip short when we got the tragic news that our beloved Mimi passed away. I fully plan on blogging on Mimi when I stop reeling from the loss but for now I wanted to put up some fun pictures of our trips.

A week in Houston

Last week Charlie and I rushed to Houston to see our Mimi who was admitted to ICU in Texas City for stomach pains and low blood pressure. Mark was sad to see us go but I know he enjoyed laying around watching sports center and not having any "daddy duty."I was able to see Mimi a couple of times on my visit am happy to announce she is out of ICU and in a regular room as of last night.

While we were in Houston, Charlie and I went to the zoo and the downtown aquarium. We had a lot of fun!

My parents came to town this week and brought a truck load of toys for Charlie. When I say truck load, I mean they filled the Tahoe to the brim!! Charlie LOVES everything! What a spoiled baby!

Kentucky Derby/ My Birthday

We have had an amazing week! On Saturday Laine and Duncan had a Kentucky derby party and we had so much fun! We watched the race, Mark made mint julips and grilled out. We took Charlie for a few hours and then he went home to the babysitter while we stayed out until almost midnight.

My birthday was one of the best ever! I got a new swim suit and some of those new shoes that help you tone your legs when you walk. Laine and Mark took me to lunch at my favorite restaurant and then Laine and Charlie made me an amazing cake while I drank champagne. Mark had my favorite flowers (star gazer lily's) delivered and cooked me a great dinner.Thanks to Laine, Mark and Charlie, it was a perfect birthday!!

Charlie's first secret plan! My dad has always spoiled his kids and now he is doing the same with his grandkids! He used to take us to the toy store every Saturday and buy us a toy or take us to do something special and there was only one rule... don't tell mom. Well now he has taken secret plans to a whole new level. They not only happen on Saturdays now the happen EVERY TIME he has the kids. He told me there is now a "point system" to the secret plan, they point and he buys whatever they want. Every time we show up at there house they have some giant new toy for Charlie! SPOILED!!! My mom is just as bad! This was Charlie's first secret plan at the zoo gift shop!

Charlie is talking! His favorite word is dada but he also says hi and dog. Though I think sometimes he gets dog and dada a bit confused. He is ten month old now and growing up so fast. We have been spending a lot of time out at the lake house and he LOVES playing in the sand and swimming in the pool.

No one has made an offer on our house yet but we have had a lot of people come by to look at it so we're hoping someone makes an offer soon.

Mark has been playing a lot of golf recently and Charlie and I try to walk to the park everyday to go play on the swings. Life is pretty great!!
